Microsoft provided us with a powerful framework for
building client-side web applications with the ASP.NET
AJAX framework. However, the cake is only half baked.
The framework includes the infrastructure for client-side
controls – but currently lacks any officially supported
controls.
In this talk, Stephen Walther discusses how you can extend
the ASP.NET AJAX framework with custom client-side controls.
In particular, he focuses on demonstrating how you can
build AJAX controls that consume and display database
data entirely from the client. Expect plenty of code samples!
